About my paintings .... I am often asked what subjects do I like to paint. I like to paint boats, trees, beach, water, everything really but it is the process of creating a painting intuitively that I enjoy. Having lived so much of my life at the beach I often find this does influence my work as do the wonderful trees found around here on the mountain ranges of Toowoomba so naturally there are often people or birds or flowers included .... Finally, it is through the use of colour and light, tone and structure that my final image will evolve. (I must mention here that occasionally I decide to paint a location or image from the start - even my own rules can be broken!) Diana
I live and paint in Toowoomba amid a very active and energetic cultural scene. There is no doubt that original paintings add another dimension to 'living' in your space. Just find the image you love and go from there. I enjoy supporting a number of organisations and find local school art exhibitions a very worthy cause.
My next exhibition is in November at the Culliford Gallery,,,,,Toowoomba Art Society, 1 Godsall Street (in town overlooking Queens Park and the Botanic Gardens). UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES ... Tues 2 to Sun 28 Nov. This is a shared exhibition with watercolorist Robyn Croad ......... hanging day (1st Nov) is not far away so all stops are out!
If you enjoy art and would like to be notified of my future exhibitions, please join my mailing list below so that you will be included in emails.. I have had at least one solo exhibition each year for the last four years (except 2020!) so this shared one will be a nice change. Please add your name to my mailing list if you would like notification of future shows. Diana
